Writer-Director Paul Fraser will talk through his career working across shorts, feature film and music video discussing the challenges he faced and how he navigated the film industry. He will also present a case study and analysis of the creative and practical approaches he took in the making of his award winning short ‘Scummy Man’ starring Stephen Graham and developed in collaboration with Warp Films and The Arctic Monkeys.
About Paul Fraser
Paul is a screenwriter and director represented by Casarotto. In collaboration with director Shane Meadows, he embarked on an extraordinary slate of feature films: Small Time, A Room for Romeo Brass and Once Upon a Time in the Midlands, Somers Town and Dead Mans Shoes. The two continue to development a number of projects together.
Paul has directed a number of short films included the award winning Scummy Man. He has also directed music videos for Arctic Monkeys, Gary Lightbody, The Strypes and Plan B. His first directed feature was an Irish funded road trip: My Brothers.
Paul is also a script-edited and has worked on many scripts including Adult Life Skills (Dir: Rachel Tunnard). He is an Industry advisor on national and international development schemes and delivers script training in the UK and around the world.
