Supported by ScreenSkills NFM Academy’s Spotlight on Factual TV introduces those new to the industry to experienced professionals who can offer advice and guidance.
With the rise of factual TV programmes so the shortages in specific skills becomes more apparent. You will gain an understanding of the type of roles available and the skills required to work in Factual TV. Hearing how others entered and progressed in the industry, the highs, lows, and potential pitfalls will give you confidence to decide which avenue is for you. Access to those currently working in the industry who will advise you and help you work out your next steps.
We have representatives from factual production companies such as True North amongst others and freelancers who’ve produced work for the BBC, CH4, ITV and Netflix.
We will begin with a panel session discussing routes and roles in the industry and then offer the opportunity to network with experienced crew, as well as potential employers.
These events are open to all but must have a north east base.
