Executive Producer – The North East Comedy Hot House
NFM has created a unique partnership with scripted comedy executive and North East native, Emma Lawson to launch The North East Comedy Hot House; a first-of-its kind comedy co-op cultivating regional talent, both on and off screen.
Emma hails from County Durham, and began her career in Newcastle in 1998 at L!ve TV. She has since banked over 20 years of extensive experience in both physical production and editorial development on award-winning television shows. She has a vast network of high-end on and off screen talent and has worked with some of the biggest names in comedy. She has spent the last eight years working as an executive at Ash Atalla’s production company Roughcut TV overseeing their scripted output, including producing five series of the bafta nominated BBC sitcom CUCKOO. Emma is a passionate regional advocate, working regularly on regional inclusion and mentoring programmes, as well as engineering production back to the North where possible.
