The Whitley Bay Film Festival, now in its sixth year, have announced their 2015 programme. The festival, which celebrates film, media and art in and around North Tyneside will take place between 15th August - 6th September.
This years programme includes screenings of Hitchcock’s Lifeboat at St Mary’s Lighthouse, Moon at the Inflatable Dome on the sea front as well as moving image installations and live music. To see the entirety of the programme please see the festival's website.
Previous events have included Jaws screened on the beach, The Fog at St Mary’s Lighthouse, Dawn of the Dead in the Park View Shopping Centre and Laurel and Hardy at The Grand Hotel Tynemouth celebrating their 1932 visit there.
The Festival has also launched a Crowdfunding campaign in order to renovate the festival caravan into a mobile screening booth, compact cinema showcase for new short films, box office and as an iconic festival headquarters.
