Tyneside Cinema Opens The Gallery

Posted: 19th September 2014

Tyneside Cinema has opened The Gallery – adding a welcome new exhibition space and cinema screen to the region’s burgeoning artist-filmmaking scene.

The Gallery is currently playing host to its inaugural exhibition, EDIT, the wonderful new collaboration between artist-filmmakers Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, musician Joe McAlinden, writer Martin McCardie and arts producer Katie Nicoll, which runs until Thursday 09 Oct.

The Gallery aims always to offer something different and interesting: in the daytime a rich and exciting programme of moving image work by artists, and in the evening an intimate 33-seat cinema, where guests can enjoy fantastic feature films, artists' films, special events and much more. It will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am – 5pm and 11am – 5pm on Sundays, with special events in the evenings.

Forthcoming exhibitions include ‘Early Works’ by Chris Maker and ‘Chromatic Aberration’ by Aura Satz.
