In recognition of Third Films objective to develop bold, director-led films that transcend simple genre types, the company has been awarded £50,000 to support their aim of reigniting UK cultural cinema. After a fierce application process, 20 production companies have successfully been chosen to receive a Vision Award of up to £200k over two years, providing the financial and creative autonomy needed to develop an exciting slate of film projects, support growth and raise their company profile nationally and internationally.
The British Film Institute launched the Production Company Vision Awards 2013-15 earlier this year, aiming to boost film culture and a thriving film industry with an injection of £2.5million. By encouraging and enabling producers to work with a diverse mix of emerging and established filmmakers from across the UK, the Vision Awards are central to the BFI’s strategy for supporting UK film by nurturing new voices, fresh ideas and creative excellence.
Third Films have just wrapped on Bypass – a character-driven thriller set against the economic backdrop of contemporary Britain.
