Success for Sleepworking

Posted: 3rd April 2013

Sleepworking, one of the short films funded through Northern Film and Media's innovative Shorted scheme, has recently scored a double success on the international stage.

The film will receive its official UK première at the prestigious SciFi London film festival, before playing at Screamfest LA – the event where “Paranormal Activity” first premièred – later in the year.

Writer and director Gavin Williams said: “We're absolutely blown away by the response to Sleepworking. These successes prove that Northern talent – such as our amazing cast and crew, including cinematographer, Si Bell, and stars, Catherine MacCabe and Stephen Gregory – can compete at the highest level, even in a genre thought to be the preserve of American studios with huge budgets. This achievement shows that smart ideas and smart people are the only crucial assets in filmmaking, and our region has a wealth of both.”
