Sheffield Doc/Fest 2016 pitches now open for applications. 

BFI Film Fund Pitch - The BFI Film Fund Pitch is returning to Sheffield Doc/Fest 2016, with a shortlist of up to eight projects invited to present at a private pitching session for development or production funding. Deadline: Friday 25 March

The Channel 4 First Cut Pitch - The Channel 4 First Cut Pitch is back. Once again First Cut will be offering five new directors the chance to pitch at the festival and one winner will walk away with a commission from Channel 4 for their first 60’ film. Deadline: Sunday 27 March

The Guardian Documentaries Pitch - Back for a second pitch at Doc/Fest, The Guardian is offering delegates the chance to pitch ideas for short documentaries and get £5,000 towards their film and an online premiere on The Guardian website, visited by 140 million monthly browsers. Deadline: Wednesday 30 March

IBT Climate Change Pitch - International Broadcasting Trust is offering £4,000 in development funding for a project that can engage the public with the challenging issue of climate change. Deadline: Thursday 31 March 

ITN Source Short Film Competition - Once again ITN Source is opening up their archive to provide entrants with free access to footage to make their short film. The top 3 films will be screened at the Festival and the winner will be presented with a cheque for £1,000 at the Doc/Fest Awards evening. Deadline: Monday 4 April
