Applications are invited for Royal Television Society North East & The Border Centre 2013 Awards, which will be made at a showcase event at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton on 01 March 2014.
The categories and entry criteria are listed here and you could be part of it by entering your very best work. 2013 is shaping up to be another landmark year for our production sector – not least in network drama with six major series in production.
All work must have been aired on TV, distributed for non-broadcast or streamed online for the first time between November 2012 and December 2013.
CATEGORY 1 - FACTUAL
There will be two awards in this category: one in Non Broadcast Factual/Factual Entertainment/Features, and another in Broadcast Factual/Factual Entertainment/Features
CATEGORY 2 – DRAMA
CATEGORY 3 - PROMOTION OR COMMERCIAL
CATEGORY 4 – SCOOP OF THE YEAR
Individual and Craft Awards
These categories celebrate individualprofessional excellence. Teams, groups or partnerships cannot enter. All work must have been produced between November 2012 and December 2013.
CATEGORY 5 – JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR
CATEGORY 6 – PRESENTER OF THE YEAR
CATEGORY 7 – PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE (CRAFT) There will be three awards for professional excellence in this category: in Photography, Innovation, and Animation, Graphics and Titling.
CATEGORY 8 – THE EXTRA MILE AWARD
CATEGORY 9 - THE RISING STAR AWARD
CATEGORY 10 - THE CENTRE AWARD
RTS Student Awards
Four Student awards are screened and presented at the RTS’s regional Awards Presentations. These cover Factual, Fiction, Animation and Entertainment. Full details are available online, via the link below.
Entry fees and deadlines
The "early" entry fee is £35 + vat for complete entries received by noon on Friday 18October. The "final" entry fee is £55 + vat for complete entries received by noon on Friday 01 November. No entry will be accepted after this deadline. Please note that there is no entry fee for the Centre Award or the Rising Star Award.
