Radio Film turned on ' a new home for outsider art and maverick documentary film

Posted: 24th June 2013

Thursday 13 June saw the launch of a new home for outsider art and maverick documentary film as producers Ashley Horner (Pinball Films) and Andy Jones (ScreenStation) went into partnership at Sheffield Doc/Fest.

Radio Film are currently shooting in South Africa on Mayenzeke Baza’s feature documentary THE BOY, THE BLADE & THE MAN: a rites-of-passage film about male circumcision. The project, which has been selected for Brit Doc and Sundance Institute’s Good Pitch in Johannesburg in September, develops a half hour doc made for Al Jazeera (NDIYINDODA: I AM A MAN) and has its origins in NFM’s ‘Film in a Week’ initiative.

They are also currently raising seed finance for a project with Matt Hulse (DUMMY JIM) on THE HIPPIES: PUNK ROCKED MY CRADLE, a cinematic documentary about the pre-teen punk band The Hippies and the Cambridge fringe scene that spawned them.
