FILM CLUB Project Coordinator (Freelance)
Northern Film & Media (NFM) is a creative industries development agency committed to driving the development of film, TV and digital media talent in the UK. By running a dynamic programme of events, training, creative projects and talent development initiatives from our base at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, we aim to develop the brightest UK talent, whilst creating a screen culture economy where creativity can thrive.
We are seeking a freelance Project Coordinator to deliver FILM CLUB 2016 a series of artist film screenings and talks designed to expand audiences, together with networking and one-to-one professional development sessions for North East-based artists. The Project Coordinator will be required to do the following:
Though a freelance position the Project Coordinator will be expected to maintain contact with NFM staff providing regular updates and will have access to the NFM office and email account for the duration of the project.
FILM CLUB is a series of screenings and discussions with bespoke support and networking for professional artists, in combination with screenings of artist-moving image work to increase audiences across the NE region supported by Arts Council England.
3 screenings focused on increasing audiences for artistic moving image work co-programmed and co-delivered with partners in Northumberland (Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival) and Teesside (mima). Encouraging non-specialist audience to attend screenings, more mainstream / accessible works to be shown. Approaches will include feature length works, with supporting shorts / curated selections of shorts exploring a relevant theme deemed to be of interest to target audiences
4 screenings of short form works by an invited artist, followed by an informal Q&A facilitated by a curator-producer or collaborator and networking in NewcastleGateshead.
5 days of one-to-one sessions for 25 North-East based artist-filmmakers allowing bespoke opportunities to discuss specific practice areas with curators / programmers with expertise or interest in artist moving image work
This activity is scheduled to take place during 2016 with all final reporting due by 27th Feb 2017.
There is a separate budget for all associated costs with delivering the activity and a fee of £2460 (inc vat) to coordinate the activity.
