NFM/Night Owls to host Rising Tide spooky screening

Posted: 21st October 2011

Set on the windswept Holy Island and featuring an exclusively local cast, crew and soundtrack, Rising Tide is the quintessentially North East thriller. Written and co-directed by North East duo Dawn Furness and Philip Shotton, Harry Potter actor Timothy Spall OBE recently described Rising Tide as a "hugely atmospheric, stylish, intriguing and a chilling right-of-passage horror movie" and the feature has gained further endorsement from legendary producer Lord David Puttnam.

Metro Radio’s Night Owls, which is presented by supernatural enthusiast Alan Robson, will join the screening of this sinister coming-of-age ghost tale of friendship, loss and revenge. From the innovative filmmaking techniques to the creative storytelling and atmospheric soundtrack by award-winning Northumbrian musician Kathryn Tickell, attendees will have the chance to discuss the film with key cast and crew. A scary photo shoot is open to the brave!

Rising Tide was premiered at the Tyneside Cinema in August to an audience of 260 film fans. The screening caught the eye of the local media, with BBC Look North reporting on the event. Highlights of the premiere are now available on Northern Film & Media’s YouTube channel.

Tickets are priced £4 strictly limited to 89 – click here to guarantee your place or call the Tyneside Cinema box office on 0845 217 9909 whilst places still remain. Night Owls will be giving listeners the chance to win a pair of tickets on the Metro Radio show.
