Would you like to be an essential link in keeping our media heritage alive? Creative Skillset is working with Film London and FOCAL International this May to offer 10 dedicated individuals the chance to get a foot in the door of the Creative Industries – as Media Archive Trainees.
Media archivists and archive technicians rescue, preserve and restore film, TV, and digital media so that future generations can be inspired by the brilliance of our media heritage.
Whether it's working in the archive unit of a major broadcaster like the BBC, with footage from sport to natural history, restoring classic film in the British Film Institution's National Archive, or working in post-production on contemporary films, TV and documentaries, from Senna to Argo, starting an archive career means you will play a unique part in keeping this superb heritage alive.
10 paid traineeships in archiving are being offered for new entrants to archive who want their work to go down in history. Successful applicants will receive expert training and work in industry for up to 24 weeks with top media archive companies, starting in May this year.
