INTERVIEW WITH A HITMAN starring Luke Goss (Shanghai Baby, Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Blade 2) has received a £55k boost from Northern Film & Media’s £2.4m public-VC Finance for Business – North East Creative Content Fund investment partnership with Northstar Ventures.
Interview With a Hitman is the first film that Luke Goss has made in the UK, having carved a highly successful movie career in the US working with directors such as Guillermo del Toro. Goss has recently completed leading roles in Across the Line, Blood Out and has taken over Universal’s Death Race franchise. This year also marks the twentieth anniversary of his last Bros album, Changing Faces.
Set to successfully invest the full £2.4m into the North East’s creative industries by the end of 2011, the Creative Content Fund has already surpassed its target of bringing £2.4m of private sector investment into the region. Films recently backed include Song for Marion (Terence Stamp, Vanessa Redgrave, Christopher Ecclestone) and dark family drama January (James Cosmo, Amy Manson).
Agnes Wilkie, Creative Director, Northern Film & Media said: “Dean’s ability to deliver modest budget popular films with top talent attached makes Scanner Rhodes an ideal partner.
“This investment adds another distinctive commercial title to the Fund’s investment slate and provides a further boost to the North East film industry.”
