Newcastle-based Crinkle Cut Motion Pictures have announced a distribution deal with 10 Francs, Paris-based international film and TV producers and distributors, for the documentary WHERE THE BEE SUCKS… (2016; doc; 52 min). The contract is for all territories and all media platforms and represents the latest in a long line of films produced and directed by Adrin Neatour which have been taken up into international distribution.
These films include: LIGHTS FROM NOWHERE, SPOONBENDERS, THE CLEVELAND EXPERIMENT, THE COBBLERS TALE and PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE, as well as a variety of shorts. All the films were self-financed and produced as part of Adrin’s work documenting and commenting on aspects of contemporary life.
The style, length and content of the films were influenced by Adrin’s attendance, often helped by Northern Film & Media, at many international film markets. Attendance at these events oriented the sensibility of the productions, but the films themselves and their subjects are all part of a body of work that includes 13 major documentaries.
WHERE THE BEE SUCKS…
WHERE THE BEE SUCKS… is a film about bee keeping: the intimate relations between bee and man. It is shot from the point of view of the bee keeper, Ralph Pattinson, who guides us into the world of the hive, showing us an environment normally only experienced by him.
