North East based Fantome Line Post Production (Harrigan, The Liability, Bypass) have appointed cinematographer and producer James Mcaleer to head up their new production slate.
Since opening their doors in 2010, Fantome Line have worked on 15 feature films and many TV shows and commercials, and have quickly established a reputation for high quality broadcast post production.
Last year Northern Film & Media and ERDF supplied a £3,000 grant for Fantomeline to expand their facilities, installing a small studio, full sound mixing suite, and sound recording booth.
Founder Michael Pentney said: “We’re excited at the prospect of now providing a full production solution to complement our existing full post production solution, and with James at the helm, we’re confident we will deliver an exceptionally high quality service which is specific to our clients’ needs.”
McAleer, who has enjoyed commercial and critical success with his films ‘Invertebrate’ and ‘Harrigan’, brings with him a slate of drama and documentary feature films, the first of which goes into production in Spring. He says:
“I’m excited to be a part of this exciting and growing company. I’ve worked with Fantome Line for many years now, and it seems like a natural progression for both of us that we should form a production entity that can provide the full package for our clients and broadcasters alike. Funnily it was NFM’s Roxy Bramley who suggested a formal partnership with Fantome Line. It made perfect sense!”
McAleer produced and shot documentary feature ‘Once More for Bobby’ for Fantome Line last year, which is due for theatrical and broadcast release in April.
His last feature, ‘Harrigan’, (Tall Tree Pictures, dir. Vince Woods) Starring Stephen Tompkinson comes out on DVD and Blu Ray on the 14 January.
