Dene's latest Doctor Who doc set for release

Posted: 20th January 2012

Newcastle-based indie Dene Films’ documentary Looking for Peter will be released on Monday 23 January as part of a new Doctor Who BBC DVD package.

The documentary will accompany the release of the 1964 Doctor Who story 'The Sensorites'. Presented by Sony Award-winning comedian Toby Hadoke, Looking for Peter is directed by Dene's Chris Chapman, edited by Richard Alderson and mixed by Peter Groom.

The film seeks to discover the truth about The Sensorites' mysterious writer, Peter R Newman, resulting in ‘a kind of 'Doctor Who Do You Think You Are with a few tears before bedtime’.

“We're really proud of this one - and the reaction it's been getting so far has been very touching," said Chapman.

The film is the fifteenth of Dene's Doctor Who documentaries to be released after being commissioned by distributor 2|entertain. Twelve more films are in development.
