CREATEiNNOVATE is also a web resource. This website will be a space for filmmakers on the programme to share their learning and experiences as they develop new cross-media ideas aligned to their film slates. For more on the filmmakers and their projects click here.
Speakers and mentors on CREATEiNNOVATE 2014 include technologist and designer Tom Armitage; Peter Cowley (Spirit); distribution manager Katie Ellen (BFI); Sally Hodgson, Producer, Pipoca Pictures (Sound It Out, Orion: The Mask of Elvis); Liz Rosenthal (Power the Pixel); leading ARG creator David Varela (Sherlock: The Network) and Mike Cowap, Screen Australia.
Alongside the development programme we are also running a series of workshops open to any filmmakers interested in developing their cross-media skills. These sessions will cover a range of topics including marketing, branding, building audiences and new business models. The first of these events are now open for registration. Kate Ellen will be delivering a BFI Distribution Funding and Strategy Session (02 Sept), and Peter Cowley will be presenting on Extending and Monetising Films Using Digital and Social Channels (03 Sept).
CREATEiNNOVATE is a Northern Film & Media initiative funded by the Creative England’s Innovations and Partnerships Fund, European Regional Development Fund and with additional venue support from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.
