NFM are launching CREATEiNNOVATE - a web resource and digital development programme designed to support filmmakers as they explore the commercial and creative potential of their feature film story worlds online. Full details about the scheme and how filmmakers can get involved will be revealed at a special launch event at BALTIC with guest speakers Hilary Perkins, Multiplatform commissioning editor for drama at Channel 4, Katie Ellen, Distribution Manager at BFI and Thomas Benski, CEO of Pulse Films.
The Create Innovate programme will feature industry mentoring alongside a series of workshops open to any filmmakers interested in developing their cross-media skills. These sessions will cover a range of topics including story development, pitching, building audiences and new business models. The programme kicks off with a 3 day film ‘hack’ led by award winning author Naomi Alderman and creative technologist Natalia Buckley. The Create Innovate website will be a space for filmmakers on the programme to share their learning and experiences as they develop new cross-media ideas aligned to their film slates. We are also pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with leading cross media industry organisation Power to the Pixel - more details of which to be announced soon.
