The score and orchestra recording for North East and Norway-set independent feature BLISS! – a rites-of-passage adventure told through the eyes of 16-year-old tom-boy Tasha Robson – will take place in Los Angeles on Fox's historic Newman sound stage on 09 March.
Composer Hélène Muddiman said, "Bliss is a film that is my idea of a dream job - working with passionate people telling an important story. Having the opportunity to record with one of the best orchestras, and in one of the world's most iconic studios, is always a thrill that puts icing on the cake!"
BLISS! was written by Writer’s Guild Award Winner Alex Ferguson, and developed into a screenplay by Breakthrough Brit Rita Osei (The Curry Club) and Jenny Wilkes (Making Waves) with financial support from Northern Film & Media. The film was produced by Alan Latham and Rita Osei, and is directed by Osei. The score is by Ivor Novello nominated Composer Hélène Muddiman (Skin, The Cramp Twins, additional music for John Powell and Danny Elfman on Happy Feet 2, Ice Age: Continental Drift and Frankenweenie), founder of the charity Hollywood Elite Composers.
BLISS! stars Freya Parks (Les Miserables, Jane Eyre, Creation), with a fantastic ensemble cast that includes David Leon (RocknRolla, Vera), Montserrat Lombard (St Trinian’s 2), Reece Noi (Game of Thrones, Hit and Miss), Lauren Johns (Pride, Here and Now), Gitte Wit (The Sleepwalker), singer/songwriter Natasha Haws and Lars Arentz-Hansen (Beyond the Pole, The Beach).
The film contains notes of magical realism and combines them with a wholesome take on the people of North East England. To read more about BLISS! click here.
