Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival has launched an open call for submissions for their 11th edition, asking artists and filmmakers to submit films and moving image work which responding to the theme Fact or Fiction.
The 2015 Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, which opens on Wednesday 23 September and closes on Thursday 27 September, will feature work that challenges and questions our preconceived notions of documentary and narrative film, including performance, re-enactment and re-interpretations of history and memory.
Fact or Fiction is completely pre-occupied with moving image’s singular ability to bring us directly into the realm of the senses, transcending the black and white type of a document to reach something much more complex. It’s about allowing audiences to ask questions and experience processes that get to the real essence of the art of cinema.
The organisers want to see film and moving image submissions of all types and lengths including narrative and experimental work, animation, fiction, documentary, installation and performance works. They encourage filmmakers and visual artists from all over the world to submit work.
Final deadline for submissions: Wednesday 01 July.
