Are you interested in a career in film and television locations but want to know more? Distinguished location manager Harriet Lawrence (SUFFRAGETTE, DOWNTON ABBEY) will provide the answers about all aspects of working in locations during this afternoon class.
Aimed at those right at the start of their careers – especially recent university graduates and both prospective and former NFM Academy students – this class is designed to give those without professional experience a sense of what’s involved in working in this essential, exciting but often overlooked department.
During the class Harriet will share insights about the nuts and bolts of working in locations, such as script breakdown, scouting locations and planning and managing the shoot. These practical issues will be firmly grounded in a useful overview of the stages and types of production, how the departments on a production fit together, and on-set etiquette in a professional production. There will also be opportunities to put your own questions.
Please note that Harriet will also be delivering a more advanced day-long class on 27 Sept for those with more industry experience (click here for details).
When: Monday 26 September, 2.00pm – 5.00pm (registration from 1.40pm)
Where: The CastleGate, Melbourne Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2JQ
Registration: to register for a place click here. Thanks to the support of our funders there is no charge for this class. Places are offered first-come-first-served and must be booked individually.
