As part of Northern Film & Media and Channel 4’s The Artist’s Cut programme we will be running a series of workshops covering story development, film business, production techniques and working with actors. Thanks to the support of the Arts Council there is no charge for attendance but availability of places is limited.
Casting Demystified, with Julie Harkin
In the third and final workshop Julie Harkin will lead a round table session revealing the casting process and her approaches to casting for a range of budgets. The session will cover how casting directors work and the creative relationship between actor and director. How filmmakers approach the casting process and how to find the right actors for your film for every role, regardless of the budget.
Julie is a Casting Director specialising in film and television. She has become renowned for the discovery and promotion of emerging new acting talent, receiving recent critical acclaim for casting the BAFTA award winning drama Misfits. Julie has cast major productions for The BBC, ITV and C4/E4 alongside her film work for Working Title, Cloud Eight Films and Film London.
