Short Film Night

Candle and Bell’s Short Film Night returns with another programme of films made by emerging talent from the North East and beyond.

The films for the June edition cover a typically diverse selection of genres, encompassing drama, animation and science fiction.

Mad About the Boyby Andy Simpson
Drama. A young girl caves in to peer pressure.

Amar (all great achievements require time) by Andrew Hinton
Drama. One day in the life of a 14-year-old Indian boy.


Drama/animation. Joshua is a young man growing up in a deprived inner-city area, under pressure from those around him.

Blind Eye by Laura Degnan
Drama. A mother’s protective instincts are put to the test.

Tickets are priced £3 and can be bought from Box Office at Tyneside Cinema (in person or by phone on 0845 217 9909), or online. Previous nights have sold out so you are advised to book tickets in advance.

Short Film Night is run by Candle and Bell in association with Tyneside Cinema.
