In partnership with LUX and the NewBridge Project, Northern Film & Media have spaces for five artists with a moving image practice to attend a one-on-one advice session. These are for artists based in the North East of England, who are no longer in full-time education.
These informal advisory sessions will be with Ben Cook, Director of LUX, and are aimed at developing a wide-ranging dialogue around your practice. They may involve any or all of the following areas:
In order to apply for a place please send a current CV, plus a 300-word description on why the session would be useful, to email@example.com. Before applying please check your eligibility by downloading and reading this document.
The deadline for submission of applications is midday on Wednesday 07 January.
When: Friday 16 January. Artists will be assigned an hour’s session to start between 10am and 5pm.
Where: The NewBridge Project, Newbridge Street West, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 8AW
Further Details: Sessions last for one hour. You are welcome to bring work to look at on DVD (although we would advise to not bring too much), plus written material such as practice descriptions. If you do want to show work from DVD you will need to bring a laptop or other screening device with you. Please let us know when applying if there is any time you cannot attend and if you have any accessibility issues. Should you have any questions about applying please contact Rebecca Huggan at NFM.
Thanks to our funders there is no charge for attending one of these sessions.
Artist advice sessions are supported by the European Regional Development Fund and Arts Council England through Grants for the Arts.
