Tyneside Cinema has launched A Guide to the Art of Cinema: a very special series of essential titles that explore the exciting crossovers taking place between cinemas and galleries.
The first screening in the series is Béla Tarr’s legendary, life-changing touchstone of durational cinema: Sátántangó. Running at 7 hours, the film focuses on the collapse of a collectivised Soviet-era farm in rural Hungary, and will be introduced by Tyneside Cinema’s Curator of Screen-based Media Elisabetta Fabrizi.
