Helen Bullough CBBC Briefing Event

Helen Bullough, Head of CBBC Productions, will be joined by Alan Fairholm, line producer on Tracy Beaker Returns, for a CBBC briefing in Newcastle. 

Focusing on the opportunities  opened up by the department’s move to Salford and the potential that CBBC sees in the North East, Helen will be unlocking a range of business-critical issues including:

  • how commissioning at CBBC works between in house, co pros and indies
  • pitching your ideas
  • opportunities available for shadowing on CBBC productions

 This event will combine a brief presentation about Helen’s work at CBBC, a chaired conversation, and an opportunity to raise your own questions.

When:  Tuesday 13 Dec. Registration from 2.15pm for a 2.30pm prompt start; ends 4.00pm, followed by informal chat over tea and coffee.

About Helen Bullough

Helen Bullough is Head of CBBC Production with responsibility for all in-house production for CBBC in MediaCityUK. She leads a team of over 200 staff, creating shows such as Blue Peter, Newsround, Tracy Beaker Returns, Legend Of Dick And Dom and Serious Explorers.

Helen joined the BBC in 1991 as a Broadcast Journalist Trainee in News, moving to Manchester in 1993 to work on the Daytime and Features slate. She has worked in the North ever since on a wide range of output ranging from religious documentaries to Rough Guides; Fred Dibnah to Dragon's Den. She ran the Manchester Entertainment development team for three years and was formerly Head of Entertainment Production North in Manchester and Head of Vision North, leading the Manchester-based Vision departments through the migration to MediaCityUK.
