David Puttnam via Live Link, on 'How to Get Ahead in Film'

David Puttnam begins a series of lectures at the University of Sunderland exploring ‘How to Make it in the Creative Industries’, with personal insights into the world of film, television and culture.

The first of the series is ‘How to Get Ahead in Film’: an interactive lecture delivered via live link from Ireland, in which Puttnam will discuss the three most important qualities for budding producers and film-makers: talent, commitment and belief.

As former head of Columbia Pictures in Hollywood and as producer of such British classics as The Killing Fields and Chariots of Fire, Puttnam will use film excerpts and his own insights to answer questions about today's industry.

When: Friday 27 February, 11.00am – 1.00pm

Where: The David Puttnam Media Centre Cinema, St Peter’s Campus, University of Sunderland, SR6 0DD

The event is open to all and places are free, but must be booked in advance by contacting Amy Callaghan at Sunderland University on 0191 515 2637 or by email
