Countdown to Local Television in the North East



Executives from Made Television, who have won the Ofcom television licences to produce local news and programmes for Tyne and Wear and Teesside, will be unveiling their plans for the two services at an ‘in conversation’ event chaired by the BBC's Chris Jackson in Newcastle on 22 January.

With a remit including local news, current affairs and entertainment, Made Television will have a reach of over 1m households across the two North East stations. How will the new services be funded, and what opportunities exist for programme makers and production staff? Join uthe Royal Television Society and Northern Film & Media to get the inside track from the newest players in the broadcast landscape on a range of business critical issues including:

  • Commissioning opportunities, content priorities and budgets at the channels
  • Pitching: who to take ideas to at Made and how to approach them
  • Made Television’s ethos and business model
