Tyneside Cinema are marking 100 years since the birth of legendary actor and filmmaker Orson Welles with a screening of Citizen Kane – still widely considered to be the greatest film to ever come out of Hollywood.
The film follows a labyrinthine study by a group of reporters into the life of newspaper tycoon, Charles Foster Kane, as they try to decipher the mysterious final word uttered on his death bed: “Rosebud”. With stunning visuals and sprawling scope, Citizen Kane is still after all these years like nothing you've ever seen.
