BYPASS Q&A Screening

Northern Film & Media is proud to be supporting a special Q&A Screening of Third Films’ eagerly anticipated feature BYPASS on the first day of general release.

Thanks to a special collaboration with Tyneside Cinema we are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of discounted tickets to creative professionals from the region.

BYPASS sees Duane Hopkins follow his award-winning directorial debut Better Things with a tough and tender character-driven thriller starring an unrecognisable George MacKay (Pride) as Tim.

Tim has no job, but he 'works', selling stolen goods... When his supplier is brutally attacked his world takes on a new dimension of menace. In the coming days he must face the prospect of becoming connected to more serious crime, more dangerous men - and with his health declining, a net of troubles closes around him.

Shot in the North East of England and backed with development funding from NFM, BYPASS is stylishly made with excellent performances from a cast including Donald Sumpter. Hopkins deftly weaves a fractured, poetic yet thrilling feature out of an urgent exploration of the brutal facts of life faced by young people with no job and no support.

This screening will be followed by a short Q&A with members of the production team, including producer Samm Haillay and co-producer Andrew McVicar.
