BATTLE MOUNTAIN: GRAEME OBREE’S STORY, with Q&A (24 Apr)

‘The Flying Scotsman’ Graeme Obree comes to Tyneside Cinema for a special screening of this film about the world champion and world hour record holding cyclist.

In BATTLE MOUNTAIN Obree, who built a homemade bike using second hand cycle parts, a saucepan and a pair of roller blades with only his eye and thump for measure attempts another seemingly insurmountable quest. In his 47th year he competes for the Human Powered Landspeed Record against the best teams, technology and science in the world.

Battling with his inner demons and physical setbacks during the preparation for his latest sporting challenge, this is an intimate, emotional and inspiring portrait of a man who time and time again succeeds against all odds.

When: Sunday 24 April, 3pm – 5.15pm

Where: Tyneside Cinema, 10 Pilgrim Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 6QG

Tickets are available from Tyneside Cinema Box office in person, by phone (0191 227 5500) or online
